Dan S. Ahrens: President - Ahrens Advisors, L.P.
Dan S. Ahrens is President and Treasurer of Ahrens Advisors, L.P., an SEC-registered Investment Advisor he founded in September of 2005. Prior to forming Ahrens Advisors, he was President of the MUTUALS.com Funds, and served as portfolio manager of the Vice Fund (VICEX) and Generation Wave Growth Fund (GWGFX). He was President of the Funds' Advisor, Mutuals Advisors, Inc. He joined that Advisor and its affiliated companies in February 1999 after a career in financial services beginning in 1988. Prior to joining the Advisor, Mr. Ahrens worked in various roles with MONY Life Insurance Company / MONY Securities Corp. Mr. Ahrens received his Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Finance from Texas Tech University. He also earned the professional designation Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
Dan is the author of the book, "Investing in Vice, The Recession-Proof Portfolio of Booze, Bets, Bombs, and Butts", published in 2004 by St. Martin's Press. He has appeared on CNN, CNBC, ABC News, MSNBC, Bloomberg TV, PBS Wall Street Week, and the BBC. The Vice Fund, which he started in 2002, was featured in TIME Magazine, The Economist, New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Investor's Business Daily, Barron's, Financial Times, and many other publications during his tenure there.
